What we collect and why
- Files and transfer details: your files, their names, types and sizes, your optional message, expiry time and status, to provide the service.
- Sharing keys and passwords: stored only as protected digests, not in readable form.
- Account and session data: if you sign in with Google, the identifier, name and email Google provides; for guests, a temporary session identifier.
- Security and usage data: a protected form of your IP address, request counts, failed key attempts and abuse reports, to prevent misuse and enforce limits.
- Policy acceptance: the version you accepted and when.
Service providers
We use these providers: Cloudflare (hosting, storage, database, human verification) and Google Firebase (sign-in). They process data on our behalf under their own terms.
Security
Files travel over encrypted connections and are stored privately. Ved Transfer is not end-to-end encrypted, so we and our providers can technically access stored files. File scanning: Files are not scanned for malware at this time, so only open files from people you trust.
Retention
Files and transfer records are deleted after expiry or revocation. Security logs are kept for 30 days. Provider backups may keep copies for a limited time.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent where applicable. To make a request or complaint, email us at the contact address above and we will respond within a reasonable time. You may also have rights under Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
